His art education was first-rate; after graduating from the Grekov Art College in Rostov-on-Don in 1979, he was accepted into the prestigious Surikov Art Institute in Moscow. He graduated in 1988 from the workshop of the legendary People's Artist, Professor Viktor Tsyplakov, and has been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 1991.

Greshenko works within the great tradition of Russian Realism, applying its principles to landscapes, still lifes, and genre scenes. His work is often characterized by a rich, textural application of paint and a strong, confident composition. This mastery is evident in the work from the Lazare Gallery collection, "Winter Evening". The painting is a masterful study in atmosphere, capturing the quiet, contemplative mood of a winter twilight. Greshenko skillfully uses a nuanced, tonal palette to convey the cold air and the soft light on the snow, finding a deep, poetic beauty in the Russian landscape.
